PLATTSBURGH — Lawrence "Larry" F. Liberty, 66, of Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away on Monday Feb. 11, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 12, 1946 the son of Thomas and Margaret (Gero) Liberty.
Larry graduated from Saranac Central School in 1965, soon after he enlisted in the U.S. Army and retired from the Army Reserves in 1981. He worked for Plattsburgh Laundry, Forest Park Mobile Home Park in Glens Falls, St. Joseph's Church in Treadwells Mills and later retired from Unique Packaging Corp. in Plattsburgh. Larry enjoyed watching, NASCAR, Yankee Baseball, wrestling and playing on his computer.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, John Liberty; three sisters, Patricia LaReau, Elizabeth Duval and Barbara Bradley.
Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lettie (Martineau) Liberty of Plattsburgh; three sons, Lawrence E. Liberty and his wife Christa of Plattsburgh, Leland Liberty of Plattsburgh and Francis Liberty and his wife Elizabeth of Wash.; nine grandchildren, Sandra, Tyler, Haydin, Caleb, Austin, Hayley, Wyatt, Ella and Cade; four great-grandchildren, Keira, Kayden, Allyria and Konnor; his mother-in-law Frieda Martino; two brothers-in-law, Donald Martino and Carlton Bradley; two sisters-in-law, Donna Sly and Joan Liberty; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.
Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
