PLATTSBURGH — Allan J. Martin, 75, of Sailly Ave., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Chazy Lake on June 15, 1937, the son of Clifford and Theresa (Dubray) Martin. When Allen was a boy growing up he served as a altar boy for many years.
Allan was a veteran serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Champlain. He worked for Sheridan Iron Works in Plattsburgh.
Allan married Kay Hunt in Champlain on Nov. 17, 2000.
He played in a band for 39 years. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. Allen would often sing along to country and western music on the radio. His greatest pleasure was riding his Harley.
Survivors included four sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Santa Martin, Greg and Hollie Martin, John and Carolyn Martin, Brent and Lala Martin; seven grandchildren, Catlin Martin, Jayme Martin, Brandy Martin, Gavin Martin, Sage Lewindowski, Ryan Kanaly, Hannah Kanaly; a brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Velma Martin; sister and brother-in-law, Shelley and Gary Bertrand; sisters-in-law, Joan Martin, Rita Martin; and many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot with military honors. Pallbearers will be Jeff and Brent Martin, Ed Carron, Ben VanValkenburg, Erin Martin and Damion Kirker. Donations may be made to the family. R.W.
