MORRISONVILLE — Mrs. Margaret "Aggie" B. LaVene, 92, of Route 22B, Morrisonville, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her home with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country.
She was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 30, 1920, the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Stone) Stacy.
Aggie attended D'Youville Academy in Plattsburgh.
She married Norman LaVene on Sept. 24, 1949 in Saranac. They built their home in Morrisonville and later moved to Canton, N.Y. where her husband worked as an engineer at Canton ATC. Aggie and Norman returned to Morrisonville in the later 1970's. She enjoyed baking, shopping and visiting the casino.
Aggie was predeceased by her husband, Norman in 1997; her parents; and 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Corbiere and his wife Shirley of Morrisonville; three grandchildren, Francis Corbiere and his wife Kerry of Redford, Wayne J. Corbiere of Morrisonville and Lisa Garrow of Plattsburgh; three great-grandchildren, David Hathaway, Bailee and Cash Corbiere; a step great-grandchild, Trevor Duprey; a special niece, Florence LaVene; a brother, Marvin "Red" Stacy and his wife Lillian of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 28, 2013, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday March 1, 2013, at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, burial will be later in the year in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Aggie's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or St. Alexander's Church.
