Pastor Wilfred R. Meseck

MOOERS FORKS — Pastor Wilfred R. Meseck, 63, of the Miller Road, Mooers Forks, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare with his devoted wife, daughter and loving family by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh, May 10, 1949, the son of Napoleon and Jeannette (Snide) Meseck. He grew up in Mooers Forks and graduated from Mooers High School. He later graduated from Clinton Community College with an Associates Degree in Science. Wilfred wore many hats throughout his life including being a Vietnam Veteran, a Mechanic at Harris Graphics and other various local businesses. He served as a pastor at various Methodist Churches throughout the region for the last 12 years before his retirement.

Pastor Meseck was a member of the American Legion Post 767 in Champlain and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1418 in Champlain.

Willy enjoyed spending time with his family, his three dogs, gardening, fishing, bowling, playing computer games and listening to audio books. He also exhibited a great talent for woodworking and enjoyed building his house with his partner and love of his life Darlene. He was a past member of Mooers Fire Department EMS and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Darlene A. (Miller) Meseck, who he married August 30, 1980 in Mooers Forks; his daughter, Kristina Meseck and her companion Larry Rock of Mooers Forks; three grandchildren, Matthew Timmons, Peter Timmons Jr., ElizabethAnne Timmons; and one bonus granddaughter, Autumn Rock; nine siblings, Arthur and Carol Meseck of Mooers, Paulette and Clarence Lafountain of Mooers Forks, Sylvia Meseck-Bushey and Larry Feist of New Port Richey, Fla., Katherine and Bill Mark of Marshall, Texas, Joe Meseck and Fritzie Hermance, Lola and Timothy Miller, Mooers Forks, Tim Meseck and Sandy Allen of West Chazy, Jerry and Jamie Meseck of Mooers Forks, Paul and Emily Meseck of Madison, Wis.; father-in-law, Reginald and Sandra Miller of West Chazy; sister-in-law, Kathleen and Mike Thomas of Twinsburg, Ohio; brother-in-law, Alan and Darleen Miller of Mooers Forks; brother-in-law, Dale and Kim Miller of Mooers; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Napoleon and Jeannette; his twin brother, Willard and sister-in-law, Linda Meseck; and mother-in-law, Anita Miller.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain with Rev. Stephen W. Loan, pastor, officiating. Military honors will follow in the Church. A gathering will follow with details to be announced at the funeral service.
