CHAZY — Andree L. LaPorte, 70, of Lake Shore Road passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on Nov. 12, 1942, the daughter of Girard and Jeannette (Cardinal) Birtz.
Andree worked for many years at F.W. Myers and World Warehouse in Champlain, before moving to the Villages, Fla., where she worked at Lake County Hearing. Most recently, she moved back to Chazy to be closer to her family.
Andree enjoyed shopping, knitting, exercising, and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Nicholas Adam Merrill LaPorte; and a brother, Michel Birtz.
Andree is survived by her husband of 50 years, Merrill LaPorte. They were married in Springfield, Mass., and have two sons, Dennie LaPorte and his wife Joy of Chazy; Michel LaPorte and wife Debra of Chazy; two grandchildren, Cailee and Noah LaPorte; three siblings, Pierre Birtz and his wife Kathleen of Va., Micheline Kramer of Fla., Jean Birtz and his wife Sharman of Rouses Point; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.
