MOOERS — Beverly J. Sorrell, 56, of the Gokey Road, Mooers, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt.
She was born in Plattsburgh, August 11, 1956, the daughter of William and Frances (Boyd) Martin. She grew up in Rouses Point and attended school in Chazy and later Northeastern Clinton Central.
She was a homemaker, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and especially enjoyed making people laugh.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Norman L. Sorrell, whom she married Jan. 2, 1982 in Champlain; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Roger Hempstead of Mooers; granddaughters, Arianne and Jasmine Hempstead, both of Mooers; mother-in-law, Vernice Sorrell of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Shirley Belrose of Chazy, and Marylou Ouimette of Champlain; two brothers, Billy Martin and Glenn Martin, both of Plattsburgh; Normans siblings, Theresa and Richard Rinn of Mooers, Rowland and Tina Sorrell of Champlain, Ronnie and Anne Sorrell of Plattsburgh, Joan and George Liberty of Plattsburgh, Larry Sorrell and companion Lisa Gamlin of Altona; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Caroline Duprey; and three brothers-in-law, Harold Belrose, Roger Ouimette, and Kenneth Duprey.
Calling hours will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers.. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert O. Boisvert, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Altona.
