PERU — Thelma P. "Tess" Irwin, 91, formerly of the Patent Road, Peru, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Altona, August 26, 1921, the daughter of John and Anne (Miller) Peryea.
Tess was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always had a smile, quick wit and she loved to cook.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Jane) Irwin and William "Larry" (Valerie) Irwin all of Peru, and Kathy (Jim) Pohrence of Tijeras, N.M.; grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Garrow, Robin (Tim) Forget, Timmy and Jeff Irwin, Kelly Roberts, Tomilynn Fenn, Rae Norton, Lisa Spiegel, and Lori Provost; two step grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor and Bryan Giguere; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Bernard (Pat) Peryea of Dannemora, Leo Peryea of North Tonawanda, Norm (Claire) Peryea of Calif., Christina (Kit) Shepard of Richmond, British Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Raphael Irwin, 1989; seven silbings, Anna King, Emma King, Velma King, John Peryea, Leona Dobbs, Hortense Ashline, and Muriel Larson.
At Thelma's request there will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Peasleeville Cemetery in Peru.
