C. Harold Raymond


---- — PLATTSBURGH — C. Harold Raymond, 93, of North Catherine St. died Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 6, 1919, the son of Charles H. and Olive (Delligan) Raymond.

He was a 1938 graduate of Mount Assumption Institute and a 1940 graduate of Albany Business College.

Mr. Raymond married the former Jean Bombard 1946. He was a WW II Army veteran, serving in the Southwest Pacific Theatre. Mr. Raymond worked as a Corrections Officer for 30 years, retiring from Clinton County Correctional Facility in 1981.

He was a life member of Elks Lodge 621; a member of the Clinton County Historical Society, American Legion Post 20, VFW Post 125, Plattsburgh Council #82 AFLCIO Retirement Chapter; a founding organizer of the Plattsburgh Little League and volunteer at the CVPH Medical Center for 17 years.

Survivors include his wife; three nephews, Dr. Allan T. Bombard, David S. Bombard and Charles E. Bombard; three cousins, Norma Bourne and her husband Robert, Nancy Eramo and her husband John and Barbara Gadbois and her husband Donald; and several grand nephews and nieces.

He is predeceased by two sons, Thomas M. Raymond and C. Harold Raymond Jr.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Dec. 16, at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St., Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Church. Burial will occur at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Donations, in his memory, may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society.
