WESTPORT — Marjorie M. White, 96, formerly of Main Street, Westport, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on the Goff Road in Westport.
She was born in Wadhams, May 2, 1916, the daughter of the late, Elbridge and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Lawrence. Marjorie married her first husband, John Montville. He died tragically as a result of an electrical accident. Her second husband, Clarence J. White, also predeceased her.
Marjorie worked in the cafeteria at the Westport Central School for 31 years prior to retiring. She was a member of the Fr. Isaac Jogues Catholic Daughters of Westport. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and embroidering.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Dr. Peter Jensen of Westport; 4 grandsons; six great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her daughter, Donna White; granddaughter, Cindy Crandall; brother, Albert Lawrence; and sisters, Elsie Sherman, and Mildred Campbell.
Calling hours will be held from 10 to Noon, Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the St. Philip Neri Church in Westport with Rev. Francis J. Flynn, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
