WEST CHAZY — Mr. Michael L. Bouvia, 32, of Ashley Road in West Chazy, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at his home, due to complications of diabetes, which he struggled with for half of his life.
He was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 11, 1980, the son of Peter and Linda (Quesnel) Bouvia.
Michael graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1998, where he played football, baseball and wrestling. He was employed at Mickey's Restaurant for many years since high school. He loved riding his Harley and was a member of the Uneasy Riders M.C. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Marlins, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Quesnel and her companion Jerry Roberts of Point au Roche; his father, Peter Bouvia and companion Debra Gauthier of West Chazy; his siblings, Peter and his wife Ashley Bouvia of Marshfield, Mo., Amanda Bouvia of West Chazy; his maternal grandmother, Rita Quesnel of Shelby, N.C.; his paternal grandmother, Gloria Bouvia of Ellenburg Depot; his step grandmother, Elizabeth Roberts of Morrisonville; his nieces and nephew, Braisyn and Weston Bouvia of Missouri, Kerriana Hampton of West Chazy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, .
He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Edward "Pepe" Quesnel and Howard F. Bouvia.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to his family.
