Darrell W. Collins

MORRISONVILLE — There are so many things that can be said about Darrell, and all of them would be positive. Without a doubt. He cared about others as much as any person could, and no one ever questioned that he had a heart of gold. It could be any given moment, any given circumstance, but if someone needed him, he was there.

He put everyone else's happiness ahead of his own, because that was his happiness. He lived for doing the right thing and making people happy, he lived for the company and friendship that would come from doing someone a simple favor. He never asked for anything in return, because he already got what he needed just from knowing he was there for someone.

You could pick any random person out of a crowd, and ask them to come up here and say a few words about Darrell, and it would be immediately obvious that he was loved by all. He was simply a class act, and he worked his entire life to be the person he was.

Darrell was the type of man you looked up to, no matter what your age. You could take one look at him, or have one conversation with him and know he was a stand-up guy, and the type of person we all wish we could be. He was so selfless, and dedicated to caring about other people.

He asked for so little in return, other than to sit down and chat or maybe have a cup of coffee, because thats all he needed. He valued the friendship and company of loved ones more than anything else in the world, and his personality made it so everyone he came in contact with was a friend to him. He had such a positive impact, and made so many lasting memories with so many people, that it would be hard to quantify the type of impact he left on everyone.

He loved being outdoors, he loved being there for people, he loved helping fix a problem, and he loved that he could be there for everyone.

Most of his hobbies involved keeping himself busy with some kind of project, but that didn't stop him from taking a trip to the casino now and then. It was maybe the only thing he enjoyed that didn't involve giving his time for someone else, because so much of his did.

Heaven is lucky that it will be blessed with his presence for, and he will be appreciated there just as he was here. Darrell will forever be held on a pedestal because of the incredible person and impact he was for everyone.

May he forever rest in peace, and may the incredible memories he built remain with us all.

We love you with all our hearts. Darrell Collins: friend, father, husband, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, amazing human being. Written by: Payden Collins- Durham
