Goldie M. Reid

LAKE PLACID — Goldie M. Reid, 96, of Lake Placid, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone. Mrs. Reid was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Wilmington, N.Y., the daughter of the late Parker and the late Viola (Bickford) Winch.

She was married to Adna "Bucky" Reid. She was predeceased by her husband, Adna "Bucky" Reid on Dec. 12, 1981. She was also predeceased by her son, Vernon "Chum" Reid.

She had worked at Lake Placid High School as a cook, retiring in 1979. With her family, Liz and Vernon "Chum" Reid, she was operator of the Handle Bar, City Dump, and the Wagon Wheel for several years. Goldie was also a former member of the V.F.W.

She is survived by one daughter, Connie Issleb of Lake Placid; seven grandchildren, Kay Host of Biloxi, Miss., Ronald Issleb and his wife Gale of Sheboygan, Wis., Darcy Martin and her husband Glenn of Watterman, Ill., Kenneth Reid and his wife Diane of Tampa, Fla., Buck Reid of Tampa, Rebecca Wargo and her husband Jamie of Windber, Pa., and William Reid of Windber; 11 great-grandchildren, Brian, Charles, Kyle, Stephanie, Samantha, Wyatt, Molly, Alexis, and Robert; four great-great grandchildren, Abigail, John, Nora, and Penelope.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Donations in memory of Goldie Reid may be made to the Lake Placid Vol. Fire Dept. or the Lake Placid Vol. Ambulance Service.
