LEWISTON — Ann B. Grenier, 74, of Lewiston, N.Y., died unexpectedly in her home on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.
Ann was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Plattsburgh, N,Y,, the daughter of the late Leo A. and Cora (Fifield) Grenier. She attended local schools and in 1959 Ann graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Upon her graduation, she began her career as an elementary school teacher with the Lewiston Porter School District. She retired in 1993.
Ann often returned home to spend her summers in Plattsburgh. She was very involved in the local theater in Plattsburgh and had volunteered for several summers at Artpark in Lewiston. She was a world traveler, an avid bowler, golfer, and Bocce player.
She is survived by a sister, Cora (Thomas) Gillette of Victor, N.Y.; a brother, John (Roberta) Grenier of Wilmington, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Leo A. Grenier Jr.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, at Hardison Funeral Home, N. Fourth and Ridge Streets, Lewiston. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St. Lewiston, with the Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating. Please assemble at Church. Burial will be private in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Plattsburgh, N.Y.. Flowers are gratefully declined.
