PLATTSBURGH — Cora E. Hailey, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 24, 1937, the daughter of Edson and Dora (Matott) Sterling.
Cora was a graduate of Chazy Central Rural School in 1955. She had worked at the Print Pad in Plattsburgh for over ten years, retiring in 1998, due to poor health. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and traveled extensively.
Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Heidi and Henry Cormier of Dannemora, Angela and Craig Bousquet of Peru, Bonnie and Allen LaFountain of Plattsburgh, Elizabeth and James Howard of Leeton, Mo., and Laura and Kenneth Leavine of Dannemora; one brother, Edwin Sterling of Rouses Point; two sisters, Joyce Wells of Plattsburgh and Thelma DeRyke of Washington; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Sterling of Missouri. Also 12 grandchildren, Wendy Brean, Aaron Cormier and Chantal Cormier, Brent Hailey, Adam Picerno, Casey Picerno, Joshua Bousquet and Megan Bousquet, Kyle LaFountain, Hailey LaFountain and Travis LaFountain, Levi Howard, Stephanie Cozad and Andrew Howard, Ashleigh Leavine and Tyler Leavine; and five great-grandchildren, Colyn Hailey, Mikayla Douglass, Jakob Hailey, Brendon Beyor and Alexis Beyor; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by three siblings, Allen Sterling, Clyde Sterling and Verlie Harrison.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Ingraham Cemetery in Chazy at a later date.
