ALTAMONT — June L. Mahar, 86, went peacefully to her home in Heaven on Dec. 20, 2012.
Born in Rochester and raised in Plattsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dora (Garrand) Hayes.
June was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Jerry and her son, Bruce L. Jerry. She is also predeceased by her devoted and loving husband of 47 years, Thomas F. Mahar.
She is survived by her children, Brian (Penny) Jerry of Slingerlands, Jill (Daniel) Wilson of Amsterdam, Kelly (Steve) Schafer of Altamont, Roxanne (Glen) Marsh of Ballston Spa, and Tonya F. Mahar of Schenectady; uncle, Mitchell Garrand of Plattsburgh; and many loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; cousins; and dear friends.
June's strong will and character, which she expressed in so many ways, will never be forgotten.
A special thank you goes to the "Unit 3 Nolan Riddle" nurses and technicians at St. Peter's Hospital, who went beyond loving and caring for her in her final days.
