MORRISONVILLE — Velma Altmann, 84, of Timberline Dr., passed into the arms of her Lord on Dec. 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Champlain, N.Y., on Dec. 30, 1927 the daughter of Wallace and Lillian (Labombard) Jennette.
Velma loved to crochet, knit, do puzzles and be with her family. She loved animals and adopted many over the course of her 84 years.
She is survived by her husband Karl of 53 years; her daughter, Theresa (Altmann) Richmond 50, of Champlain, N.Y.; her husband Richard, and their Children Sarah and Tirzah; her son, Richard Altman, 52 of Tacoma, Wash., his wife Tanya and their children, Diana and Sophia; one sister, Marcella Ives of Rouses Point. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Lillian (Labombard) Jennette; three siblings, Donald, Roger and Basil Jennette.
A funeral service will be held at the United Methodist Church on Beekman Street in Plattsburgh at 11 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 29.
