PORT HENRY — Jean Gravelle Wykes, 91 of Port Henry, NY, died Jan. 16, 2013 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. Jean was born Jan. 16, 1922. The daughter of Claude Cutting and Lucy Jackson.
She had five children; Joann Moyer of San Bernadino, Calif., Gilbert Gravelle Jr. of Port Henry, N.Y., Jean Breed of Crown Point, N.Y., Janice Maas of Chicago, Ill. and Jim Gravelle of Burlington, Vt. She had a sister, Martha and three half sisters, Stella Blaise of Port Henry, N.Y., Marty Denton and Anna Mae Peterson. She also had two step-sons, Franklin and Bill Wykes from her second marriage to Meredith (Red) Wykes. She had 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a number of great great-grandchildren. She had a number of cousins in Crown Point, Malone, Swanton and Shoreham. She had a large number of friends.
She worked many years ago selling tickets at the Westport Fair. She worked many years at the Senior Meal Site in Port Henry. She also worked at the Lee House Apartments as a secretary. There will be a graveside service in the Spring.
