BEEKMANTOWN — Morris R. "Moe" Oshier, 77, of the O'Neil Rd. died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Faust, N.Y. on Feb. 28, 1935 the son of Joseph and Emma (Smart) Oshier.
Mr. Oshier married the former Janeann Hart Luck in Damriscotta, ME in 1981.
He was a construction worker during the building of the Plattsburgh Air Force Base, then helped build the first chair lift system at Whiteface Mountain, he worked as a mechanic at Pat's Truck Stop in Plattsburgh and was a millwright at Imperial Paper Mill for 25 years, retiring, due to injury, in 1988.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joseph Oshier and his wife Kathleen of Lexington, N.C., and Timothy Oshier and his wife Christina of Chazy; two stepsons, Shaun Luck and his wife Anne of Beekmantown and Michael Luck and his wife Shelley of Depuyster, N.Y.; one daughter, Delina Oshier-Swanson and her husband Mathew of Thomasville, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Nancy Foster and her husband Scott of Plattsburgh and Kathleen Mageira and her husband Jay of Morrisonville; two sisters, Agnes Lapier and her husband Joseph of W. Chazy and Doris Delisle and her husband Kenneth of Cadyville; 23 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Ann Osterman and his sister, Leona Dubuque.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the R. W. Walker Funeral, 69 Court St., Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 at the Robert W. Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in W. Chazy in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department.
