LAKE PLACID — Marty E. Bruce, 51, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 after a battle with ALS.
He was born in Keene Valley on July 5, 1961 the son of James and Doris Geppner Bruce.
Survivors include his loving wife, JoAnne; a daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Trevor TenEyck; 2 daughters, Staci Bruce and Kirsti Bruce; a granddaughter, Alyvia TenEyck, all of Lake Placid; his mother, Doris Larue; 3 sisters, Sandra Smith of Plattsburgh, Anna (Loren) Payro of Au sable Forks and Vicki (George) Paye of Saranac Lake; a brother, Marcel (Colleen) Bruce of Wilmington; a brother-in-law, Reggie Way of Lake Placid; Helen Watson of Lake Placid, Agnes Riley of Wilmington, Malcolm Bruce of Keene and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, James Bruce; a stepfather, Joseph LaRue; a sister, Carolyn Way; 2 brothers, Monty Bruce and Mel Bruce and a nephew Reginald Way II.
He enjoyed hunting, riding his Harleys, spending time at his camp and his granddaughter. He will be missed but never forgotten by all those who knew and loved him.
At Marty's request there will be no calling hours or memorial service. Donations can be made to the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department or the ALS Foundation.
