CHAZY — Helen E. Breitenbach, 93, formerly of Miner Farm Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.
She was born in Chazy, N.Y. on Oct. 22, 1919, the daughter of Frederick and Rose (Gaining) Gordon.
Helen was a member of Three Steeples Methodist Church in Champlain, N.Y.
She worked for the Chazy and Westport Telephone Company in Chazy for over forty years.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Margaret Rose Harris and her husband, Hervie, of Castleton, N.Y.; one grandson, Gregory E. Harris of Elmira, N.Y.; two nieces, Mary Lou McKinney and her husband Eldee, and Rosie Sullivan and her husband John; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Breitenbach on Sept. 23, 1972; three sisters, Hazel Russo, Grace Gordon and Ruth Fisher; and one brother, Arthur Gordon.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the R.W.Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St., Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the spring in Riverview Cemetery in Chazy.
