KEESEVILLE — Rita A. Fieldson, 84, formerly of the Mace Chasm Road, Keeseville, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.
She was born in the family homestead, Trout Pond Road, Keeseville, Feb. 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Sidney A. and Inez (McCann) Ford. When Rita was 6 years old her mother died. Her mother's sister ''Aunt Nellie'' lived with the family and helped raise the children. Rita graduated from Bible School in 1953. Rita was an LPN and practiced at various locations throughout her career.
She married Edward Fieldson in 1968. He died in 1982. Rita enjoyed word search puzzles, caring for her cats, flowers, and eating out.
Survivors include one nephew, James Keith Ford; and several friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Claire and Glen; and sister, Kathleen ''Kay'' Ford.
There will be no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at the Keeseville United Methodist Church with Rev. Edie A. Poland, pastor, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville.
