GREENPORT — Shirley A. Smith, 75, of Greenport died Wednesday surrounded by her loving family at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 9, 1936, in Moriah, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Marie (Hart) Whittimore.
Prior to her retirement she had worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant at the Emergency Room of Columbia Memorial Hospital and several area Nursing Facilities.
Survivors include her husband Charles E. Smith who she married Sept. 2, 1978 in New Russia, N.Y.; three sons, William of Chatham, Timothy of Columbiaville, David of Watertown; seven daughters, Beverly Pulsifer of Hudson, Cynthia Pulsifer of Elizabethtown, Robin Merrill of Morrison, Shirley Darleen Hammond of Maine, Sherri Dominy of Philmont, Kathy Hanway of Hudson, Dawn Roberts of Germantown and Shirley Mae Mabb of Hudson; six sisters; and two brothers; 20 grand children; 20 great-grand children and four step Children.
She was predeceased by her son Richard.
A celebration of her life will be held 10 to 11a.m. Saturday at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown.
