PLATTSBURGH — PLATTSBURGH — Corine V. Genier Lacroix, 85, of Plattsburgh passed away on Jan. 7, 2013.She was born May 22, 1927,in Fort Covington N.Y., the daughter of Romeo and Elosia Richer Genier.
She married Norman J.Lacroix on Oct.26, 1946, at St Athanase in Iberville, Que. The family lived in Iberville, Que. and had three children.
In 1951 they moved to Tupper Lake where Corine had a great deal of family. The family grew to six children. In 1962 they moved to Plattsburgh, where they built their home and the family grew again to seven children. She loved her family, and was always taking care of everyone and her home. Large family gatherings always abounded in the home.
She also enjoyed visiting her family in St Jean - Iberville and Tupper Lake. In her youth she liked to swim in the Richelieu river, ice skating, and it was nothing for her to sew a new dress for the weekends.
Corine is survived by her six children, Kathleen Munoz and her husband, Cipranio of Helotes, Texas, Lorraine Bowman of
Tupper Lake, N.Y., Diane Norton of Essex Junction, Vt., Ellen DiPaola and her husband John of Elkton, Md., Nancy Kratts and her husband Scott of Plattsburgh, and Norman Lacroix Jr. of Plattsburgh. She loved her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Norman Lacroix; their son, Robert Lacroix; and her son-in-law Warren Norton.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Lesieur Funeral Home, Iberville, Que. Services will
follow at St. Athanase in Iberville, Que.
