Charles W. (Chas) Miller

SAN PABLO,CALIF. — Charles W. (Chas) Miller, Feb. 8, 1950-Nov. 26, 2012 Chas, as he was known to his friends passed away in his sleep.

He was unable to shed the excess weight that plagued him throughout his life and finally died of heart failure. He is survived by his mother, Catherine, brothers, James and Joseph, several nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Lisa Hamilton.

He was the owner of the Middle Earth boutique on Clinton St in the late 60s and early 70s from which he became a frequent customer of the Monopole restaurant. He was also an avid scuba diver recovering many relics from Lake Champlain. He has resided in San Pablo, Ca. for over 25 years, working as a broker and mortgage advisor.

He was born on Burnt Hill near Saranac on June 15, 1923, the son of Hubert and Dora (Clancy) Downs. Dan was raised on Burnt Hill, and lived and worked in the area. He married Marion Macey on April 29, 1946, and lived on Burnt Hill until they built a home in Keeseville in 1960.
