PERU — Rosalind Mae "Mrs. P" Prisciandaro, 61, of the McGarr Rd., Peru, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side, after a hard fought battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
She was born in Plattsburgh on March 5, 1951, the daughter of the late Richard H. and Barbara J. (Colvin) Wright.
Rosalind grew up in Keeseville and graduated from Au Sable Valley High School in 1969. She attended Plattsburgh State where she received her B.S. in 1972 and Masters Degree in Special Education.
Rosalind started her teaching career in Au Sable Valley and later switched to Peru Central School after her children started school. She retired as a third grade teacher from Peru in 2009. She was a track and cross country coach while at Peru, as well as a leader of 4-H and Church youth groups for many years.
Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, Vito Prisciandaro, whom she married on May 29, 1977, at the Keeseville United Methodist Church by Rev. Curtis; her son, William Prisciandaro and partner Penny Fossman, and their children, Nora and Addison of Haines, Alaska; and son Anthony Prisciandaro of Boise, Idaho; and aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
There will be no public calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, at the Peru Community Church, 13 Elm St., Peru. Friends and family are asked to gather at the Prisciandaro house at 76 McGarr Rd., Peru following the service to celebrate the life and memories of Rosalind.
