PORT KENT — Mrs. Janice M. Holland, 78, of First St. in Port Kent, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, with family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Charles and Leona (Brazeau) Bombard.
Janice graduated from St. John's High School and nursing school in Yonkers, N.Y. She was employed for many years as a teacher's aide at C.V.E.S. in Plattsburgh. She was a member of the Busy Bees Senior Group and several other groups. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, crocheting, traveling and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph and Linda Holland of West Chazy, James Holland and companion Dawn Grenier of Dannemora, Julie and Scott Racette of Port Kent, John and Pamela Holland of Altona; a brother, Charles and Alice Bombard of Odessa, Fla.; an aunt, Esther Seymour of Plattsburgh; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, John "Jack" Holland, a sister Beverly Pearlman, and a great grandson, Keagan Riley Upton, passed away earlier.
In accordance with Janice's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at St. John's Church. Entombment will be at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
