MORRISONVILLE — Mr. Allen J. Matton, 49, of the General Leroy Manor Road, passed away suddenly March 21, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Sept. 25, 1963 the son of Ronald S. and Margaret (Frennier) Matton.
Allen graduated from Beekmantown Central School Class of 1980 and from BOCES with a degree in electricity. He had worked at International House of Pancakes and later Bombardier Transportation. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR and especially holiday dinners with his family. Allen was a volunteer fireman at Rescue Hose #5 where he was assistant chief. He had raced at Airborne Speedway.
Allen was predeceased by his father, Ronald Matton. He is survived by his wife of twenty six years, Susan (Wolley) Matton of Morrisonville; his daughter, Kim Polhemus and her husband Brad; and their children, Morgan and Mason of Plattsburgh; his mother, Margaret Matton of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Larry Matton and his wife Vicki of Hingham, Mass., Danny Matton and his wife Lori of Morrisonville; three sisters, Carol Hamel and her husband Jerry of Plattsburgh, Janet Trombley and her husband Robbie of Schuyler Falls, Ann LaBier and her husband Greg of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Keely.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, at St. Peter's Church. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.
