Clifford L. Fisher

PLATTSBURGH — Clifford L. Fisher was born on Jan. 17, 1927, and passed away peacefully on Mar. 17, 2013, after a life well-lived.

Even in his last moments, his thoughts never strayed from his true love, his best friend and lifelong companion, his wife of 63 years Ethel Lansing Fisher, who survives him. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean (Rod Eaves) of Ottawa, and Barbara of Winnipeg. Pops also leaves his four sons, Ken (Liz Craven), Doug (ex Andree Giroux), Andy (Micheline Houle), and Bill (Nancy Hoyland); three granddaughters, Carly, Kristin, and Kassandra; and six grandsons, Connor, Ian, David, Charles, Kevin, and Alex.

After a 42 year career with Merck Frost, Cliff spent his retirement traveling with Ethel, playing golf with his sons and friends, and fishing whenever he could. Most of all, he loved following his grandchildren around, supporting them in their hobbies and athletic endeavors, logging thousands of miles to watch hockey, baseball, softball, volleyball, dance and football; regardless of the weather.

The family would love to see you between 1 and 4 or 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 307 Riverside Dr. St-Lambert to share stories of this unique man, not to grieve his passing but to celebrate his life and how our lives have intertwined.

In lieu of flowers, Cliff would have preferred that you make a donation to a local sports team of your choice.
