MALONE — Gretchen Louise Holzhauer 65, of Malone died March 20, 2013, at her home. Born in Plattsburgh, Feb. 25, 1948, she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Rose Casey Holzhauer.
Miss. Holzhauer graduated from Marrietta College, Marrietta, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science, and from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters of Science in Library Science. She was employed by the Franklin Correctional Facility in Malone as a librarian, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and the New York State Librarians Association.
She is survived by her Mother Mary Rose Holzhauer of Queensbury, a brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Anne Marie Holzhauer of Westport, a nephew Robert of Westport, three nieces and their husbands Frances and Jamie Ness, Rebecca and Sean Lyons both of Schnectady, and Melissa Holzhauer of Portland, Ore.
Friends and family may call at the Spaulding Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson Falls. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, in Troy.
