CHAMPLAIN — Mary Louise Chevalier, 98, formerly of South St., most recently of Meadowbrook Health Care Facility, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Champlain Oct. 16, 1914 daughter of the late John J. and Victoria (Dubois) LaFountaine.
Mary was a life resident of Champlain and attended schools locally. She worked for Champlain Telephone Company for many years. She was married to James Chevalier who predeceased her in August of 1964.
Her loving family includes her two sons, Robert Chevalier and wife Valerie of Pa., and Maurice Chevalier and wife Pam of Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was predeceased by her daughter, Loretta Blondo, and her sisters, Rose LaFountaine and Aldona Falcon.
Calling Hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 24 at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 25 at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church Street, Champlain, N.Y., with Rev. James Delbel, pastor, celebrating the Mass. Interment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery on Church Street.
