MOOERS FORKS — David P. "Tattoo" Francis Jr., 62, of the Boas Road, Mooers Forks, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his home under the loving care of his family.
He was born in Calais, Maine, Nov. 21, 1949, the son of David P. Sr. and Marion (Neptune) Francis.
David worked at Wyeth Ayerst for 26 years until his retirement.
He was a wonderful, supportive and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed the annual moose hunting trips with his son. Another great joy to him was spending time with his grandchildren.
David was always willing to help anyone in need in any way he could. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Edna (Hemingway) Francis; three sons, David P. Francis III, Sabbatus Francis and wife, Jessica, and David P. Francis IV; two daughters, Tina Francis and companion, Kevin Lailer, and Maryann Cronkrite and husband, Brian; 10 grandchildren; parents, David P. Sr. and Marion Francis; siblings, Christina Georgantis, Michael Francis, Paul Francis, Noel Francis, John Francis, Susan Leighton, Merlan Francis, Claire Omheis and Martin Francis; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Teresa Altevater.
There will be no public calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Holy Angels Church in Altona with the Rev. Gilbert O. Boisvert, parish pastor, celebrating.
Donations in his memory may be made to his family to be dispersed at their discretion.
