MALONE — Two men were injured in a two-car collision at about 2:30 p.m. March 5 at the intersection of Junction and Houndsville roads in Malone.
Francis Tourville, 50, of Altona, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier southwest on Houndsville Road when he stopped at a stop sign and made a right turn onto Junction Road, failing to yield to an oncoming car, police said.
Chad Rockhill, 37, of Constable, driving a 1992 Mercury Sable, crossed through the intersection, hitting Tourville.
Tourville and Rockhill were both transported to Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt., where they were listed in stable condition. No tickets have been issued; the accident remains under investigation.
ELLENBURG — A Plattsburgh woman was injured in a snowmobile accident Saturday morning.
According to police, Laura Carbone, 56, of Plattsburgh, was riding in a field off of West Hill Road near the Ellenburg Center when slushy conditions caused Carbone to get stuck. Attempting to free the sled she used full throttle, causing the snowmobile to accelerate faster than expected, hitting a barbed-wire fence and a small tree.
Carbone’s right leg may have been broken, and she was transported to CVPH Medical Center. No tickets were issued.
