FELONY ARRESTS
A Saranac man was recently charged with grand larceny.
State Police said a homeowner wrote a check for John B. Colby to do work for them, but Colby never did the work.
The incident was reported at 5:10 p.m. March 28.
Colby, 43, was arrested at 3:05 p.m. April 8 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.
He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Plattsburgh Town Court on April 10.
No further information was available.
KEESEVILLE — A Keeseville man was arrested in connection with alleged abuse of a child.
State Police said that during a domestic dispute, Mark A. Roark, 27, allegedly placed his hands around the neck of a female under the age of 17 until she was unable to breathe or speak.
Roark was taken into custody at 9:45 a.m. April 15 and charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony.
He was also charged with two counts of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury and three counts of acting in a manner causing injury to a child younger than 17, both misdemeanors.
Roark was arraigned in Chesterfield Town Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond.
He was due back in court on April 20.

CHAMPLAIN — Two local men have been charged with burglarizing a home.
State Police received a report at 5:52 p.m. Thursday of a residential burglary. The owner of the home told police that a handgun had been stolen from his residence, police said.
While police were speaking with the owner, a neighbor chimed in saying they observed the burglary and could identify at least one of the people involved.
Less than an hour later, Devon M. Naple, 19, of Champlain, and Robert J. Wells, 18, of West Chazy, were arrested at 4 Mill Road.
Each was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
They were arraigned in Champlain Town Court.

PERU — A Schuyler Falls woman was arrested Friday for allegedly driving while her abilty was impaired by drugs.
Lucinda L. Crespo, 44, was found unconscious in the driver's seat of her vehicle at 5:52 p.m. at 311 Main St. in the Town of Peru, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.
Crespo was slumped over the steering wheel, police said, while her keys were in the ignition and her vehicle was running.
Police arrested Crespo at 6:39 p.m. and charged her with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and driving while ability impaired by drugs with a previous conviction within the last ten years, both class E felonies.
She was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court before Justice Kevin Patnode and remanded to Clinton County Jail on no bail.
She is scheduled to appear in Town of Peru Court on Tuesday, April 24.
PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh teen was arrested Saturday for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
Nicolas E. Avellaneda, 19, was stopped by officers at 2:21 a.m. on State Route 374 in the Town of Plattsburgh for not having a license-plate lamp on his vehicle, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.
Police then determined Avellaneda to be intoxicated and arrested him.
He was charged with having no or an inadequate plate lamp, an infraction; third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a felony; and driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within the last 10 years, a felony.
Avellaneda was issued a ticket to appear in court and was released from custody.
