CHAMPLAIN — Charles G. Miller, 34, of Champlain, was injured in a one-car rollover accident near Paquette Boulevard in Champlain at about 6 p.m. Sunday. After the crash, Miller could not locate his cell phone, so he walked home to report the accident, according to Champlain Fire Chief Peter Timmons. Two children in the vehicle did not require medical treatment, but Miller was transported to CVPH Medical Center complaining of shoulder pain. He was ticketed for unsafe speed for conditions and will appear in Champlain Town Court on Jan. 10.
PLATTSBURGH — Colleen Carroll, 30, of Plattsburgh, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Friday on a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
According to police, the incident began when Sierra Rasco, 23, of Plattsburgh, canceled her credit cards after she was unable to find her lost wallet. Soon after, the credit card company called her to tell her someone made two unsuccessful attempts to use her card at Goldie’s Grocery on Wallace Hill Road. She reported the incident to State Police, who reviewed surveillance video and identified the suspect as Carroll, police said.
Carroll was called into the station to give a statement and was subsequently arrested, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police. She was given an appearance ticket to be in Town of Plattsburgh Court on Dec. 11.
PLATTSBURGH — Christopher Jones, 47, of Plattsburgh, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 2:55 a.m. Sunday. Jones made an improper right turn from Durkee Street onto Broad Street, according to State Police. He was found to be driving with a suspended license, due to a previous DWAI charge.
An onsite breathahlyzer test registered his blood alcohol at 0.23 percent, which is above the legal limit. Jones was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony; third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor; improper right turn; DWI, first offense; and aggravated DWI, because his BAC registered above 0.18.
He was arraigned in City Court on Sunday morning and is being held without bail at the Clinton County Jail. Jones is scheduled appear in court on Tuesday.
