---- — JOHNSBURG — The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation has funded 29 of 68 grant applications received this year.
Nonprofits from this area receiving grant funding this year include:
▶ First Night Saranac Lake for printing of posters and programs.
▶ Friends of Schroon Lake Public Library for DVDs and movie license for winter shows.
▶ Oscar Seagle Music Colony to help bring opera to 20 schools in Essex, Warren, Hamilton and Clinton counties.
▶ Upper Jay Arts Center to support its ongoing programming efforts.
▶ Adirondack Research Consortium to support its juried student paper program.
▶ Wildlife Institute of Eastern NY to support its Adirondack Animals program in area schools.
▶ Adirondack Curriculum Project for its Adirondack Day at the Wild Center in Tupper Lake.
▶ Adirondack Museum for its new Adirondack Historian’s Symposium.
▶ Mountain Lakes PBS to assist in the production of “Spotlight” programs.
▶ Ticonderoga Festival Guild for its March 3 programming.
▶ Literacy Volunteers of Essex and Franklin Counties for its adult literacy programs.
▶ A challenge match for the SL SkatePark Committee’s plans for a skateboard park in Saranac Lake.
▶ Fort Ticonderoga Association for its outreach programming to local schools.
▶ Champlain Valley Outdoor Educators Cooperative to bring 12 school groups to Black Kettle Nature Trail.
▶ Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York to help fund costs to deliver food to agencies in the Adirondacks.
▶ Mountain Lakes Regional EMS Council to purchase a Physio Control “Life Pak 12” heart monitor and defibrillator for regional training.
▶ Lake Placid Sinfonietta for a two-day school music program featuring a wind quintet from the Eastman School of Music.
▶ Elizabethtown-Lewis Emergency Squad to send members to a Vital Signs Conference and to pass on that training to other EMS groups in the Adirondacks.
The Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation is a private entity created in December 2000 to improve the quality of life for year-round residents of the Adirondack Park.
