RICE - A funeral service for Samuel W. Rice III, 87, of Meadowbrook Healthcare and formerly of Chazy, who died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the CVPH Medical Center, was held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by his brother-in-law, Rev. Yves Beaulieu, retired. The Pall was placed by Nicole Pierce, Thomas Rice and James Rice. The Cross was placed by Barbara Mulligan. Readings were done by Katie Abbott and Jenny Rice. Prayers of the Intercessions was by Sean Mulligan. The Gifts were presented by Jillian Pierce and Julie Rice. Words of Remembrance were given by Kevin Mulligan. Organist was Dennis Frisbie and Soloist was Andrew West. Pallbearers were Alex Pierce, Sean Mulligan, Tim Mulligan, Michael Abbott, Eric Rice and Brad Pellerin. The Honorary Pallbearer was Owen Mulligan. Burial followed in the parish cemetery, where Kevin Mulligan read a special prayer and Rev. Beaulieu recited committal prayers. Military Honors were provided by the New York State Honor Guard and members of the American Legion Post #20 Military Honors Team. Arrangements are in the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
