Christmas services
PERU — Peru Community Church at 12 Elm St. is celebrating the Christmas season with a number of services.
The schedule is: 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9; 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, with a Sunday school Christmas play during the 10:30 a.m. service in the Fellowship Center; one service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, which will feature the Choir Cantata. On Christmas Eve, there will be a children’s service at 4 p.m., a service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 6 p.m., and traditional worship and communion at 8 p.m. There is one service at 10 a.m. on Christmas day. The service on Sunday, Dec. 30, is at 10 a.m. only. Sunday school classes for all ages are at 9:15 a.m.

Special music for Advent on Fridays in December
ELIZABETHTOWN — Advent Musical Meditations will be presented by the Rev. Fred Shaw at the United Church of Christ, 7580 Court St., at 12:15 p.m. today as well as Fridays, Dec. 14 and 21.
Admission is free.
In addition, the church will host a combined service for Elizabethtown and Lewis congregations on Christmas Eve, with special music at 6:30 p.m. and a service at 7 p.m. Shaw will officiate.
Women’s group hosting holiday fashion show
CHAZY — A festive holiday fashion show featuring the latest holiday attire from Dress Barn will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chazy Presbyterian Church on Miner Farm Road.
Admission is $5. There will be refreshments, raffles for gift baskets and door prizes. The event is hosted by Chazy Presbyterian Women.

Advent Animal Blessing set
for Sunday
SARANAC LAKE — The First Presbyterian Church at 57 Church St. is holding its first Advent Animal Blessing service at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Great Hall.
All are welcome to celebrate their animal friends and the birth of Jesus Christ. Animal trainer Debbie Kreider will share a presentation on the ministry of therapy dogs. A freewill offering will benefit the Tri-Lakes Humane Society. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
