An ambulance took Scott Adkins to CVPH Medical Center late Tuesday morning after the convicted burglar was shot during his foiled escape attempt. State Police said Adkins, 23, walked away from Lyon Mountain Correctional Facility Monday and made it about three miles before an off-duty correction officer spotted him. Adkins suffered minor wounds during the shooting. He faces up to seven years in prison for the escape.
