One of the seven turbines (left) erected by Noble Environmental Power on Hy-View Acres in Chateaugay stands behind farm owner Doug Malette. He and his son, Rod, turned the 600-acre potato farm into a viable cash-crop operation. The dairy herd on the Norm and Vicky Shipman farm in Burke (top and bottom right) has more freedom, and the cows can feel as if they are outdoors without having to brave the harsh North Country weather. The facility was one of four stops on the recent Franklin County Farm Bureau tour.
