Over millions of years, Rainbow Falls carved the AuSable Chasm out of rock. Particles stuck in the water flow acted like sandpaper on the harder surfaces of rock wall and like a saw on sandstone. Now two miles long, there is rafting, hiking and snowshoeing tours that travel down the chasm.
