The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles is getting ready to issue its first enhanced driver's licenses that will allow holders to cross the border with Canada without a passport or other supporting documents. The first handful of licenses are scheduled to be issued next month while they will become available to the general public early next year, possibly as early as February, said Rutledge.
