PLATTSBURGH — Trinity Episcopal Church at 18 Trinity Place will be holding a Blue Christmas service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19.
The service is for those who find this time of year to be difficult due to some kind of loss. It is a quiet, reflective service. All are welcome.

Champlain church hosting Blue Christmas service
CHAMPLAIN — Christ & St. John’s Episcopal/Anglican Church at 18 Butternut St. is holding a Blue Christmas service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19.
The service is for anyone suffering from grief, depression or anxiety this time of year. The service offers a message of hope and healing. All denominations are welcome.

Church Chancel Choir concert Sunday at 4 p.m.
PLATTSBURGH — The First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir will present its annual Christmas Candlelight Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, in the church sanctuary on Brinkerhoff Street.
Sacred Christmas music — old and new — will be featured. The ALEE Quartet will also perform. The choir is directed by Victoria Washburn and accompanied by David Carpenter.
The concert is open to the public free of charge.
Malone church group caroling through village
MALONE — Centenary United Methodist Church is organizing “An Old Fashioned Christmas in the Village” on Sunday, Dec. 16.
Members of the church youth group, choir and others will be caroling through the village by hay wagon beginning at 4 p.m. in the Rockland, Harding, Francis, Highland, Webster and Academy areas. The carolers will then head to the Washington, Milwaukee and Clay street areas, ending up at the gazebo on Arsenal Green at about 5 p.m.
The community is invited to meet at the gazebo for more caroling, cookies and hot cocoa.
Church putting on free ham dinner Christmas day
PERU — The Harkness United Methodist Church is offering a free ham dinner to the community on Christmas day.
The meal will be served from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, at the Church Hall at the four corners in Harkness, 776 Hallock Hill Road.
Reservations are requested but not required by calling 643-9560 or 569-3421. Take-out meals will also be available.

Children’s choir presents special Christmas program
PLATTSBURGH — The children’s choir at the Plattsburgh Church of the Nazarene, 187 Broad St., will present “The Singing Christmas Tree” program at 9 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.
All community members are invited to this Christmas celebration.
Essex Church hosting Christmas programs
ESSEX — The Essex Community Church will host the following programs during the Christmas season:
At 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, Sunday school children will present their original nativity play. The annual Christmas Brunch will follow at 11:30 a.m.
At 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, the Christmas Sunday service will feature special music followed by a coffee hour.
At 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, the church will hold its annual candle-lighting service.
All are welcome to the events.
