Summer festival planned at church
KEESEVILLE — The Keeseville United Methodist Church will be holding its annual summer festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Saturday at 1699 Front St.

CHAZY — Sacred Heart Parish will hold an Indoor Yard Sale, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Sacred Heart Church, 8 Hall St.

KEESEVILLE — Children are invited to the Independent Baptist Church’s “Bug Zone” vacation Bible school at its 2030 Route 22 location.

Turkey dinner helps mission work
CROWN POINT — The Crown Point United Methodist Church at 352 South Main St. will host a turkey and biscuit benefit supper on Friday, Aug. 3.
Take-outs are at 4:30 p.m., and the sit-down meal is at 5. The menu includes turkey, biscuits, gravy, dressing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy, pies and a beverage.
The meal costs $9 for adults, $5 for ages 12 and under, and is free for those under age 5. Proceeds go to the Upper New York Conference for mission work.
Olympic Bible school kicks off soon
KEESEVILLE — The Keeseville Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene’s “Going for the Gold” vacation Bible school junior Olympics kick-off ceremony is from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Aug. 5.
The opening ceremonies will include flags of the nations and Olympic activities.
The vacation Bible school, itself, runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, through Friday, Aug. 10. Children ages 4 through 12 are welcome. Daily activities and competitions include archery, water games and track and field events, along with high-energy music, crafts, snacks and daily challenges to go for the gold.
A special project for the week will be tie-dyeing T-shirts to put in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that are sent to children around the world.
A daily penny offering, challenging the boys vs. girls will also be taken. Part of the proceeds will go toward a Kids Reaching Kids Mission Project to help inner-city children in Rochester.
A closing ceremonies program with awards and medals will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 12, with a family picnic following.

Walk for Jesus planned for August
PLATTSBURGH — The Walk for Jesus: Relay for Eternal Life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, with participants meeting in front of the Old County Courthouse, 137 Margaret St.
“Come walk with us to bring the good news that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son to save the world, not condemn it,” organizers said in a news release.
“Join us as we bring glory and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternal life.”
