PLATTSBURGH — Temple Beth Israel will not be holding services tonight.
There will be a special Shabbat service starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. At 9 a.m., a TOT Shabbat service will be offered for families with young children. That service will last a half hour.
All are welcome.
Fair Trade Sale to benefit mission’s efforts
SARANAC LAKE — First Presbyterian Church, 57 Church St. will become an international bazaar of exotic sights and sounds at its eighth-annual “Give the Spirit” Fair Trade Sale from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The community is invited to shop for fairly traded gifts and holiday items.
“For the eighth year in a row, we’ll transform our Great Hall into a world market, selling fair trade handicrafts from Colores del Pueblo, Mira Ethnicity and SERRV International,” Debbie Kreider, mission chairperson, said in a news release. “These are nonprofit, fair trade-certified organizations that work directly with artisans from around the world to find markets for their products in North America.”
The marketplace will feature jewelry, hand-woven bags and scarves, ornaments, toys and home accessories. The sale will also feature fairly traded coffees, teas and chocolates from Equal Exchange and a Heifer Project living-gift market. Local artists will provide music to shop by. All proceeds from the sale benefit local and world missions.

Coats available for those in need
KEESEVILLE — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Clinton Street has winter coats available for those in need.
The public is invited to come browse the church’s clothes racks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the church hall. The ladies of the church will also be serving cider and doughnuts.
Vendors needed for church craft sale
PLATTSBURGH — In conjunction with the annual Harvest Dinner, St. Peter’s Parish is holding a craft fair from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.
Craft vendors are needed. The cost is $15 per 8-foot table. Contact Eve McGill at 563-0001 to reserve a space.
St. Mary’s School hosting craft fair
TICONDEROGA — St. Mary’s School’s 23rd-annual craft fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the school, 64 Amherst Ave.
More than 30 crafters will be featured, along with a bake sale, white-elephant sale, book fair, homemade luncheon and basket raffle. Soups, chili, hot dogs, michigans, sandwiches, pies, cinnamon rolls and more will be served.
