PLATTSBURGH — Jessica Trevail is recruiting for Plattsburgh Project Life at SUNY Plattsburgh.
“It would be an organization that promotes the value of all human life from conception to death,” said Trevail, who is a senior majoring in childhood education.
“We believe that SUNY Plattsburgh would benefit from a pro-life presence to help bring education and to be able to talk about the issues and bring up concerns.”
She is organizing with a few other students on campus with the assistance of Students for Life of America.
According to the anti-abortion group’s website, its mission “is to end abortion by educating students about the issues of abortion, euthanasia and infanticide; identifying pro-life student leaders, equipping student pro-lifers with the training, skills and resources to be effective and successful; promoting student activity to other local, college and national organizations.”
“There’s a core group, and they travel to different campuses to help start one,” Trevail said. “The main goal is to educate about issues concerning the social dangers to human life and laws that don’t protect human life. We hope to bring in speakers and show movies, that kind of thing.”
Anyone interested in Plattsburgh Project Life can attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Flynt Commons in the Angell College Center.
“Anyone can come,” Trevail said. “It’s important to me that life is precious. Every baby, every person is here for a reason. That is so important.”
