Former classmates to gather

FORT COVINGTON — Senior citizens of Salmon River, Fort Covington and Bombay schools are having a gathering to spend time with old friends at 5 p.m. July 7 at 27 Water St., Fort Covington.

Computer Club members to share websites

PLATTSBURGH — The next Senior Citizen Computer Club of Clinton County meeting is set for 1:30 p.m. July 2 at the Senior Citizens’ Center, 5139 North Catherine St.

The topic is “Let’s go Surfing.” Attendees are asked to bring a list of their favorite websites to share with others.

The group will visit as many sites as time permits. The sites will be recorded and sent out to all members for future use.

Town offering free kayaking program

CADYVILLE — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free kayaking program from 9 to 11 a.m. June 30 for any adult who would like to try out a kayak in a safe environment.

The group will meet at the Cadyville Beach and paddle around the vicinity, learning the basics of kayaking. Kayaks and jackets will be provided.

Another kayak trip is being offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 5 to any active adults in the Town of Plattsburgh. The group will start in Saranac at Picketts Corners and travel 6.3 miles down the river to the Cadyville Beach. All equipment will be provided to those who need it.

Space is limited for both programs. All participants must preregister by either visiting the Recreation Department at 151 Banker Road, Plattsburgh, or calling 562-6860.

Social Center offering trip to Broadway

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown Social Center, in conjunction with North Wind Tours, is presenting a trip to New York City to see the Tony Award-winning musical “Memphis” Nov. 3 and 4.

The trip includes round-trip transportation, orchestra tickets, one-night hotel accommodations, Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast buffet. Transportation is via Luxury Motor Coach, departing from Willsboro and Elizabethtown. Sightseeing and stops of interest will depend on weather and other variables.

The cost is $341 per person, double occupancy. Seats are limited.
