AuSable Forks library planning book sale

AUSABLE FORKS — The AuSable Forks Free Library at 9 Church Lane is hosting a book sale and bake and tag sale.

The book sale is from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. A large selection of fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and VHS tapes will be for sale.

The library bake and tag sale is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. Baked goods and tag-sale items will be sold, along with cutting boards made by Sid Ward.

Free kayak trip offered

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free kayak trip to all Town of Plattsburgh active adults and seniors from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The group will start in Saranac at Picketts Corners Park at 5 p.m. and travel 6.3 miles down the river to the Cadyville Beach. The trip will take about three hours. All equipment will be provided to those who need it.

All participants must preregister at the Recreation Department at 151 Banker Road or by calling 562-6860. Space is limited.

Book sale today at Champlain library

CHAMPLAIN — Champlain Memorial Library is holding a book sale at 9 a.m. today in the basement of its 148 Elm St. location.

A large selection of used books, old and new will be offered. For questions, call 298-8620.
