Computer Club offers word processing class

PLATTSBURGH — The Senior Citizen Computer Club of Clinton County is offering a Word Processing Class from 9 to 11 a.m. July 16, 18 and 23 at the Clinton County Senior Center, 5139 North Catherine St.

The class will be given in the computer classroom so that each student will have a computer to use. The class will help those who have taken a class before or have been using a computer for a while to polish their skills and learn a few new ones. Students will learn about the keyboard, setting margins, page orientations, fonts, saving work, printing, making a letterhead and more.

A donation of $1 per person per class is requested. To preregister, call the Senior Center at 563-6180. For more information, call Jean Schiffler at 643-8575.

Two caregiver groups scheduled

PLATTSBURGH — A discussion group for all unpaid caregivers is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the United Way Building, 45 Tom Miller Road.

Another discussion group will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in the Emmaus Room at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh.

The group, offered by the Caregiver Resource Center/Respite Program, is a component of Behavioral Health Services North. It is open to anyone providing unpaid care to an aging family member or friend. New caregivers, friends and family are welcome. No appointment necessary.
