---- — Schuyler C. Jackson, son of Linda and Philip Jackson of Elizabethtown, graduated from the University of Albany in May. Jackson, who graduated summa cum laude, was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for his achievements.
Jackson graduated from Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School in 2002 and served five years in the U.S. Navy before entering college. He is in the process of relocating to Waukesha, Wisc., where he will seek employment.
Alison Grovine of Chazy was named to the president's list for the spring 2010 semester at The Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam). She is the daughter of Keith and Lynn Grovine. Grovine will be a junior in the fall semester.

Pellerin of Plattsburgh, from Albany Law School with a juris doctor degree; Daniel Keith of Vermontville, at Alfred State; Karlie Sorrell of Altona, Scott Morris of Elizabethtown, Martin Chapuk of Moriah, Richard Martin of Tupper Lake and Patrick Poirier of Tupper Lake, all at Morrisville State College; Eric Miller of Peru, Joseph Cross of Plattsburgh and Thomas Frenya of Plattsburgh, all with bachelor degrees, at SUNY College at Oneonta; and Kimberly A. Sprague of Moriah Center, with a Master of Science degree, and Elizabeth M. Alsina, with a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude, both at Boston University.
Jean Larkin of Tupper Lake was among the graduates of Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, Conn. She managed the varsity football, hockey and baseball teams. A member of the Community Service Club, Larkin displayed her artwork in the ceramics exhibit. She will attend Trinity University in the fall.

Jason William, son of Jim and Cindy Williams of Plattsburgh, graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. He was a four-year member of the Division I Men's Hockey Team. Williams was the recipient of the Coaches Award, which is the oldest running hockey award at Colgate. The senior completed his career playing 153 games, which ranks third on the Raiders all-time list.
The CVPH School of Radiologic Technology held its annual graduation ceremony in June. Devin Martin of Westport and Sarah Garcia of North Hudson were named this year's recipients of the Grant W. Johnson Scholarships awarded by the Republican Women of Essex County.
Kevin Cross of Morrisonville, son of Ralph and Samantha Cross, achieved the dean's list with honors at The College at Brockport for spring of 2010. He is a 2008 graduate of Saranac Central High School. In April Cross was selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for collegiate schools of business.
Michael T. Douglas, son of Caroline and Kevin Douglas of AuSable Forks, has been named to the dean's list at the State University of New York College at Cortland. He is a 2007 graduate of AuSable Valley Central.

Katherine Fuller, a student at Beekmantown High School, was selected to participate in the annual reading and scoring of the college board's advanced placement examinations in Kansas City, Mo.
Dustin Farrell of Port Kent has been placed on the dean's honor list for the spring 2010 semester at Sage College of Albany.
Dylan Sample, son of Todd and Elizabeth Sample of Mooers Forks, has been named to the president's list for the spring semester 2010 at Clarkson University in Potsdam. He graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School in 2009. He will be entering his sophomore year at Clarkson this fall and majors in chemical engineering. He is the grandson of George and Denise Sample of Mooers Forks and Real and Carol Pinsonneault of Champlain.
In honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, Mountain Lake Services sponsored an essay contest open to all students within Essex County. In an effort to raise awareness, it asked that all essays be focused on the theme of intellectual and developmental disabilities. The three winners are: John Crossman Jr., Ticonderoga High School; Sage Allott, Elizabethtown-Lewis Central; and Alaina Rushford, Keeseville Elementary.
Aja Marie Roddy of Bloomingdale has graduated from Stonehill College, Easton, Mass., with a Bachelor of Arts.
The following students have been named to the dean's list at the University of New Hampshire, Durham, N.H., for the spring semester of the 2009-2010 academic year. Emily Fesette of Plattsburgh earned honors. Stephanie Pepper of Chazy and Elissa Souris of Westport earned highest honors.
The School Administrators Association of New York State, Region 7 (Eastern), has announced the scholarship winners for June 2010. Each scholarship is $500 and will be used by students to assist them with their college expenses.
The winners are: James Filion, son of Michael and Julie Filion, Northern Adirondack Central School; Taren Frechette, daughter of Garth and Michelle Frechette, Beekmantown Central School; Noel Vezzi, whose parents are Ronald and Lori Vezzi, Crown Point Central School; and Elizabeth Foisy Vincellette, daughter of Clyde Vincellette and Lynn Foisy, Northeastern Clinton Central School.
Victoria Perras, a senior at Northeastern Clinton Central School, has been selected to receive the Le Moyne College Heights Award. Established in 1994, this award recognizes students' academic achievements as well as service to their communities. Perras will receive an $11,000 annual scholarship to Le Moyne, renewable with maintenance of good academic and social standing within the college. In addition, she will be nominated for the Le Moyne Integral Honors Program and the Leadership Development Program which provide academic and personal stimulation for outstanding students.

Tricia J. Lang of Chateaugay was recognized for her academic accomplishments at the annual honors convocation, at SUNY Cortland Campus. Lang, a senior, was the recipient of the Merck Award for Outstanding Student in Organic Chemistry.
Kimberly Steiner of Redford has been named to the spring 2010 dean's list at American International College in Springfield, Mass. Steiner is a junior majoring in criminal justice.
The following students at St. Lawrence University in Canton have been awarded university fellowships, allowing them to pursue independent study on campus this summer, with assistance from a faculty mentor: John Curie, a graduate of Plattsburgh High School, a history major working on a project titled "Abraham Lincoln on Emancipation: Long-term Plan or Changing Viewpoint?"; Krystyna Kornecki of Keeseville, a graduate of AuSable Valley Central School, a geology major, working on a project titled "2D and 3D Subsurface mapping of Red River formation, Williston Basin, North Dakota"; and Kylie Rock of Westport, a graduate of Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School, a biology major, is working on a project titled "Assessment of Mercury Levels on Bullfrog Tadpoles Living in Natural and Created Wetlands in the St. Lawrence River Valley."
Kyle Joseph Dupell of Morrisonville has received a degree in architectural studies from Norwich University, Northfield, Vt.

Tonya Tyrrell of Schroon Lake, a sophomore at SUNY Cortland, was honored with the Diversity Fellowship for contributions to campus life; Cortland's Urban Recruitment of Educators (C.U.R.E.) Scholarship for her commitment to teach in a high-need urban school following graduation; and the Student Government Association Leadership Scholarship from the College this spring. The adolescence education: English major received the award recognizing leadership skills through campus service projects and community service.
The 2008 graduate of Schroon Lake Central School is the daughter of Darren and Karla Tyrrell of Schroon Lake.
The family of the late Dean Benson Sr. has announced the winners of the 2010 Dean Benson Memorial Scholarship Awards. The chosen student/athletes will each receive $500. They are: Mary Elizabeth Franke and Frederick Hapgood, Northeasteim Clinton Central School; Alexandra Hoey and Daniel Dohman, AuSable Valley Central School; Dana Relation, Seton Catholic Central School; and Andrew LaPierre, Chazy Central Rural School.
The winners, selected from the applications of the student/athletes, received written notification and a check for $500 at their graduation ceremonies. The family will fund six $500 awards next year. Applications for the class of 2011 will be given to athletic directors of Section 7 schools in January.
