Don’t state as a fact something that is unsubstantiated or that our editors wouldn't know to be true.

Don’t presume someone’s guilt in a case when it hasn't been established by a court.

Don’t assail or impugn an identifiable individual or group. If you have that kind of criticism, sign your name and submit it as a Letter to the Editor. (There is some leeway on this in connection with public officials, but it is not unconditional.)

Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

We monitor comments Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Approval of comments outside these times may be delayed.

Montreal spring events rockin"

MONTREAL -- Spring has sprung on the Montreal stage. Here's what to expect in the near future:

Opening this week at the Centaur Theatre is "The Mystery of Maddy Heisler," the story of a young man who falls in love with an older woman during World War II. The show runs until April 20. Call (514) 288-3161 or visit www.centaurtheatre.com for more information.

"I, Claudia," the story of a 12-year-old girl whose divorced father is getting remarried, is about to enter puberty, and, on top of all that, has a school science project due, continues at The Segal Centre for the Performing Arts at the Saidye until April 13. Avril Lavigne comes back to the Bell Centre April 2. Tickets range from $39.50 to $54.40.

Joe Jackson returns from the '80s with a show at Metropolis April 2. Tickets cost $42.50.

Les Grands Ballets Canadiens enjoys a busy spring with a world-premiere production choreographed by Ohad Naharin of the Batsheva Dance Company April 3, 4, 5, 10 and 12. Next is "Madame Butterfly" with guest company the Houston Ballet from May 1 to 3. Then it's time for Classic Balanchine from May 22 to 24 and 29 to 31. Ticket prices vary; all at Place des Arts.

The Harlem Globetrotters dazzle at the Bell Centre April 4. Tickets range from $19.50 to $118.

Collective Soul plays Metropolis April 8. Tickets cost $32.50.

Santana performs at the Bell Centre April 15. Opening is the Derek Trucks Band. Tickets range from $45 to $75.

Young Brits Hot Chip play Metropolis April 15. Tickets cost $22.

The Cult plays L'Olympia Theatre April 16. Tickets cost $45.

Swan Lake on Ice is a unique production performed by the Imperial Ice Stars that combines ice skating set to the musical score of Tchaikovsky. Show dates are April 16 to 19 and 23 to 27 at Place des Arts. Tickets range from $50 to $85.

Anne Murray performs at Theatre St. Denis April 20. Tickets range from $47 to $81.

The Wu-Tang Clan's April 21 concert at Metropolis is already sold out.

The "Piano Man," aka Billy Joel, plays the Bell Centre April 23. Tickets range from $69.50 to $149.50.

Tokio Hotel come to Metropolis April 25 and 26. Tickets cost $30.

Richie Havens plays the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall at Concordia University's Loyola Campus April 29. Tickets cost $42.

THE CURE, CLAPTON

Gigantour, featuring Megadeth, plays the Bell Centre April 29. Tickets cost $34.50 and $49.50.

Ministry performs at Metropolis May 3. Tickets cost $42.50.

Panic at the Disco plays Metropolis May 13. Tickets cost $39.

The Cure comes to the Bell Centre May 14. Tickets range from $50 to $65.

Grammy or no Grammy, Kanye West plays the Bell Centre May 20. Joining West in his Glow in the Dark tour is Rihanna and N.E.R.D. Tickets range from $54.50 to $89.50.

The incomparable Eric Clapton plays the Bell Centre May 28. Tickets range from $69.50 to $124.50.

K.D. Lang performs at the intimate L'Olympia Theatre May 29 and 30. Tickets cost $69.50.

Live. Onstage. Alan Greenspan? Yep. The former Fed Reserve chairman talks money and more at Palais des Congres convention center May 30. And do you know why he's making all that money? Tickets cost $451.50.

Matthew Good and his band play Club Soda May 30. Tickets cost $22.50.

RUSH, JAZZ FEST

Genesis cover band The Musical Box performs at the Bell Centre May 30. Tickets cost $42.50 and $52.50.

Eighties rockers Rush play the Bell Centre June 12. Tickets range from $59.50 to $89.50.

It's never too early to buy Montreal Jazz Festival tickets. Already scheduled is James Taylor at the Bell Centre July 6. Tickets cost $70.50 and $85.50.

Celine Dion's six Montreal Bell Centre shows Aug. 15, 16, 19, 20, 23 and 25 sold out in minutes.
